As Mother's day approaches, we will be wrapping up our year of fundraising for Midwives for Haiti through our Baby for Baby campaign. It has been a great year and we are so proud to have played a part in the excellent work the organization has done and continues to do. Thanks to our generous customers, we have managed to finance the purchase of many vital Maternova tools for use by the newly trained midwives graduating from MFH excellent programs.
So what happens next? Well, CultureBaby still remains committed to the needs of new mothers and children everywhere. There is much work to be done. A woman still dies every two minutes from complications related to childbirth. That's far too many and it's all far too preventable. We feel strongly that as we celebrate the birth of a new baby here in the US with one of our CultureBaby products, we can seize the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of another birth in the developing world.
We love how bringing two mothers together in this way adds to our mission of bringing parents and children into a shared awareness of the world around them. We are anxious to find ever more ways of improving our campaign. So we are pleased to announce that next year's beneficiary will mark a shift in our fund-raising model.
Our campaign partners, Maternova, this year launched Maternova Research, their non-profit sister dedicated to researching ever more effective and low cost solutions to the pressing problem of maternal and infant mortality. In order to streamline our campaign therefore, we have decided that all our funds will, beginning Mother's Day 2014, go directly to Maternova Research. This will make sure that our funds will benefit any number of non-profits in any number of countries as the work at Maternova Research leads to more cost-effective, high-impact tools.
We hope that you will all continue to add your Baby for Baby donations to your purchase. It makes us so happy every time we can write a check to our beneficiaries on your behalf. Thanks so much for your support!
