Midwives For Haiti - 2012 "Buy for Baby, Save a Baby" recipient

Culture Baby and Maternova are so pleased to announce today that the beneficiary of our "Buy for Baby, Save a Baby" 2012-2013 campaign is...

Midwives for Haiti

Midwives for Haiti works to teach Haitian midwives the skills they need to work in an environment that is often inhospitable to the needs of a new mother and child.  By sending American and European midwives train local midwives in country for 10 months, students can in turn offer pre-natal, labour and post partum care to these very vulnerable women and babies.

Why did we choose Midwives for Haiti?

- They are already making excellent use of the Maternova products they have but they desperately need more.

- Haiti has the highest infant and maternal mortality rate in the Western Hemisphere.

- The ripple effects of the 2010 earthquake are still being felt, even though the world's attention has shifted elsewhere.

We hope you will visit the Midwives for Haiti website to learn more about their spectacular efforts.  Remember that you can add a Maternova certificate for Midwives for Haiti to any purchase and that throughout the month of May, Culture Baby is celebrating our partnership by offering 15% off on all our baskets and gift sets that come with an automatic $5 donation to Midwives for Haiti.  Just enter discount code: CBMTsaveababy at checkout  Stay tuned also for some very special edition gifts presented in Haitian made baskets!
